there´s another suite [link removed by mod JTH] and i think portableapps and these one can join and become one, at least both are great options and each one have their one benefits, what do u think?

A few of their apps link here, they are basically just another version of PortableApps.com. Most of their links to portablefreeware.com will eventually be allowed here too. The site owner is working on getting freeware apps and others on this site as well.
I've removed the link because that package is doing unauthorized modifications to Firefox, Thunderbird and Sunbird in violation of the Mozilla trademark policy and, thus, trademark law. Their Firefox Portable is actually ours but removing our logo and bookmarks. Basically, that suite includes stuff without permission, modified without permission and doesn't host the source code for the apps that are under the GPL/LGPL as required.
Many of the apps are actually ours, but he hides our splash screens and otherwise passes things off as his own. Oh, he'll still link here as the publisher of some stuff, but if you grab the suite and you're actually using all our apps, you won't usually know it. He does still include the GPL source for our launchers as required, unlike that other suite in France that was illegally removing them. The worst one is with JKDefrag Portable where he pulled our name off and renamed the app to appear as his own (you won't even find us mentioned on the app's homepage).

How do you find out if people don't have permission from Mozilla to use their apps? Is it insider info, or is there some kind of Wiki page in their site that says who can use it?

Mozilla and PortableApps.com are both open source, but have trademarked names and logos. This means that while you can freely modify and redistribute the code itself, the name is another matter. PortableApps.com is one of the few (and easily the most popular) licensees to be granted use of the Mozilla Firefox name.
Redistributing Firefox, for one example, is perfectly fine as long as you give credit as called for under the license, and you change the name and logo. Even the nightly builds do this. Last version they were called Minefield, not sure what they're called now. Mozilla even gives a default icon (Firefox icon, without the fox - just the globe. (The Minefield icon added a bomb fuse.)

I'm sorry I missed the point of your question. I do not know the answer to that. I do not even know how to prove that PortableApps.com has Mozilla's consent and in fact just take John T. Haller at his word, and the overall reputation of this site, that he has permission to do so. I've also read other places (though not directly from Mozilla) that PortableApps.com has that permission and that it's rarely given. But I'm sorry, I don't know where Mozilla say, if they do, who has that permission.
Maybe email Mozilla somehow?
Now that we are talking about GPL's, I think this place violates usability standards in relation to Mozilla by taking out the "install add-on's" button.
So much for getting new users on board and testing plug in's.

First off, we don't remove anything from Firefox other than the exact things we say we do (disable disk cache to speed performance, disable default browser check, etc) and there is no install add-ons anything we remove.
Second off, why the continuing attitude? Is it just because you were told not to link to a site that rips off our code and attempts to make people think they are associated with us?

Hi John,
There's a little button on the "manage add-on's" tab which isn't present in the portable version, which as I see it makes it more difficult to use since if you have little or no experience with the application then the only way to install add-on's is via the browser.
I don't believe this helps facilitating transitioning users.

Once again, John, you seem to be experiencing considerable difficulty in understanding what the GPL does, and doesn't, allow. Please visit http://www.gnu.org/ and learn a little.
It's ironic that you should be complaining; in another post you demanded that modify and redistribute your software unless they did exactly what the Lupus PenSuite guys have done!
Incidently, Lupo PenSuite menu system has nested menus! You might want to take a look at their source code, and integrate this into the portableapps.com menu system, and be grateful for their help - instead of complaining when people improve on something you've written...
