Followed Advice Still Seems Slow

Hi

I have followed the advice on how to improve FireFoxs performance but it just doesn't seem to work. I have had a look around the forums to see if any one else if having problems but can't seem to find any way to improve performance further. The performance does seem to improve the longer I continue to use it but then can also dip as well. The problem seems to be that the final piece of a page takes an age to load and hangs FireFox whilst it is waiting for it. Does anyone know of anything I can do or am I expecting too much from it. I have a 16gb stick if that makes any difference.

Thanks

sure all chaching off?

are you sure you did all the chaching off?
when all storing of intermediate data is off, then my portable ff is same speed as the installed one, no real differences, all depending on wbesite trying to view.

You still want save cookies etc, but this has no impact on overall performance.
If your performance 'seems' to improve , then this would be a sign of still using cache of all contents.

Well I went through that page

Well I went through that page I linked to and couldn't find the check box for it but then read that it was off by default. Now I may have turned it back on again somehow so do you think you could point out exactly where it is.

Drive

What kind of drive do you have? Also, as a general rule, the larger the drive, the slower it is when running apps or accessing lots of random small data. 4Gb is slower than 2Gb. 8Gb is slower than 4Gb. 16Gb is slower than 8Gb etc.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I don't know the make as it

I don't know the make as it was bought for me by work and the casing has broken off. It is a 16gb though so that may be some of it.

Ok I have fixed my issue by re-installing Firefox and it works a lot better now. I had obviously screwed something up with it!
