Food Network uses Audacity

I wasn't even watching the TV, my wife was, they were doing a making-of one of the shows. Couldn't even tell you who it was, but the guy said he was on a set, and they were shooting something about football food. I just happened to look, and they were mixing the audio with Audacity.

I was really hoping to come in here and say it was one of the 1.3.x betas, but I took the DVR remote and went back, frame by frame. It's probably 1.2.6.

But it's nice to know that they're using a free, open source program that many of us use, and not some commercial program.

some of the commercial

some of the commercial products dont have the usability that audicty does. I dont think this was the right board to post this as this is for support but hey. i cant complain.

I'll move it if it's an issue

Yeah, I figured as much, but I also figured between the 1.2.6 vs. 1.3.x debate and questions that would have been answered by a search, a topic to let people involved of a major television production using this project would lighten the mood a bit.

I can move it if it's an issue, to Off-Topic.

It's fine

It's fine, you just mentioned in the Audacity forum that you saw something about Audacity. If someone mentioned that they saw the President on TV using FireFox instead of IE in the FFP forum I would have thought that was fine.

Tim

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?

Right

Right.

Forget the President, dude, Bill Gates has used Firefox. And then tried to write it off with some remark like "but one installs so many programs"... Well, shoot, Bill, if your company made half-decent software, the third party market might look like it does over on the Mac side. At least the IE team sent Mozilla a cake for versions 2 and 3 of Firefox; that, was classy. Now if only Mozilla sent cakes for IE 7 and 8, and included the recipe, now that would be something else.
