Hi, guys!
I know PortableApps is something where the people involved won't get much more out of it than the fuzzy warm feeling that they helped to make the (internet-) world a bit better. But I was wondering why there are projects like Firefox or Thunderbird that are maintained on a regular basis while other projects appear to be deserted.
OpenOffice.org seems to be such a project. Version 3.1.1 came out more than a month ago and until now there is not even a beta-version (at least none I can find) or even an announcement that the portable version would be updated as well.
I do understand that you are all doing this on your free time and I'm really grateful for the hard work you all put in. I just wish more programs would be updated as regularly as the most popular ones.
Is there any word yet on OO.org 3.1.1 or will that be skipped? If there is a beta, where can we find it so we can test it?
Best regards and thanks for PortableApps - using my PC hasn't been this comfortable in years.

On the plus side, this site has been growing steadily since it's early days. So, hopefully as more people come on board, you'll see faster turnaround times. I've been persuaded to ditch more-or-less all other portable apps, in favor of the one's found here because of the growth in popularity of this site.
Are there features in the latest version of the official release that you desperately need that are not present in the portable apps version? Just curious. In the normal way of things, I'm quite happy to wait for as long as it takes.
I'm not knocking your comments, we'd all like PortablesApps to be up-to-minute accurate, just weighing in with my comments. Seems like PortableApps could easily be a full-time job. Unfortunately, probably not a very well paying one.
... a pre-release will be available on October the 7th.
Paid for Software more or less?
What You need is OSS!
Thanks to both of you!
I'll be looking forward to it.
While 3.1.1 does not have particular features that I require, there are some useful bugfixes.
Thanks again!
Best regards,

... cool. Tomorrow!
... but I found a last little bug
I'll inform You if the 3.1.1 is ready for testing.

Count me in on testing also
Concerned that this might not be a little bug. I see that at least one competitor has gotten 3.1.1 out. Any idea when we at PA are going to see an update?
Secunia version checker has told me that 3.1 is insecure and needs to be updated for a while now. I hate seeing the yellow bar. It also doesn't like VLC 1.0.1 !!
