Good Apps List?

I'm thinking of putting these apps on my 128MB flash drive...

PStart
Portable Firefox
Portable Gaim
Portable Thunderbird
TrueCrypt
Foxit PDF Reader
µTorrent
WinAmp
7-Zip

Suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks in advance for those that read this
For all you others, I hope you lose your flash drive...

no office

You don't have any office apps? If you just want a light word processor that does .doc, the I would highly recommend QJot. Here is a link to its write up on Portable Freeware:

(There is a link to the website where you can download it. There is also instructions for putting it on the USB drive.)

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what instant messaging protocol do you use? Because if you only use AIM, then I think miniaim would be perfect for you. It is extremely small (75.5KB), it has alot of features, and it looks good.

Most People

Most people I know use at least AOL and Yahoo or MSN. A few use Jabber. So MiniAIM isn't really appropriate for most people. But if you just need AOL with no smilies, file transfer, etc it works.

well

I maybe know of one person who uses something other than AIM, so it suits my needs. I guess there is a fair amount of people that use others, but AIM is far and away the most popular.

AOL IM Stats

AOL has approximately 56% of the market worldwide when adding up simple total numbers. Yahoo and MSN combined (They are combining) total 40% of the worldwide market.

So, yes, there are a ton of people that don't use AIM at all or only use it in conjunction with the others. I'm logged into AOL, MSN and Yahoo right now, and I use the same ID in all 3.

yup

16% more than the next two combined, I'd say that's quite a market share.

Yes, but

Absolutely not the only one. Unless you want to exclude 200 million people. Which would be kinda silly.

right

I did mention that I knew there was a fair amount of people that use others, so Gaim is perfect for them.

Have you thought about what office apps to put on there?

Flash Drives Are Cheap

Don't even bother with a 128MB flash drive. USB keys are getting cheaper and cheaper now adays. I bought a new 2.5GB USB key for approximately $60 CAD. You'll be wanting more space then 128MB.

Revised Apps List

I made a few changes to my list...

PStart
Portable Firefox
TrueCrypt
Foxit PDF Reader
Fusion Media Player
QJot
7-Zip
XnView
miniAIM

I got rid of Portable Thunderbird because I just realized that there is no difference if I just view Gmail.com on Portable Firefox, and the RSS function is taken care of by PFF as well
I got rid of AbiWord because I had too many problems with it, got QJot
I got rid of Gaim because I just got rid of my MSN account
I got rid of uTorrent because I never use it
I got rid of WinAmp because Fusion is smaller and has video capabilites
And added the others just for the hell of it...

Grand total is 30MB exactly
