Implement 'home/end keys' in menu

I recall not being able use arrow keys in the portable menu but it was allowed, now can I use home/end keys to help navigate my exceedingly long list of "portable" programs?

Thanks

Coming

I can't remember off-hand whether or not this has been included in 2.0 Beta 3, but I know that it's in the plan to have it implemented soon.

Sounds awesome. That means I can simply go to the end and work up which is great.

Alphabetical is fine.

The only other thing and maybe it's been mentioned already but the favorites, is there any way to make them stay at the top of the menu, eg remain "static".

It's really coming along this thing and small enhancements I believe really make a difference to how usable something is.

Many regards.

In the latest beta of the platform you can stick things up the top - but they'll still scroll with the menu (not sure if that's quite what you mean).

Hi,

I am using the beta (I always get the latest PA menu) and I like it alot, however besides being able to use standard keys, I'd very much want to be able to "pin" applications to the start menu and have them remain at the top when I scroll.

I hope this can be implemented soon.

Thank you

Unlikely

I very much doubt that this will ever be implemented, or at least for a long time. Sticking to the top is one thing, and clearly useful, but I think few would want a static stickiness all that much. It's also more likely to cause trouble with strolling - themes will be able to specify how many entries come up on the page, and say you have 15 static and go from a 20 items theme to a 10 items theme - what then? Whereas, if they just scroll but at the top, it's fine down to even one entry.

Exactly

..

but if the menu can take 20 (without resizing) or so programs then should the user be able to choose whether or not they are all "pinned", ie permanent fixtures, or just the top 5.

It is an issue I believe at least for me otherwise what is the point of pinning them at all?

Of course you could use the space under help for a series of icons like in the old geek.menu, that would be of benefit I believe but not Windows installed applications or anything like that just a new section to cope with what I'm saying.

Actually & Also

Actually, above Documents would be better. Have up to five "sticky favorites" which push all the icons on the right down.

Also, you can get an app launcher like Cylog Toolbox, have it auto run when the menu starts, and have it have your favorite programs, which you can remove from the PortableApps.com Platform.

Hi,

If both those menus are running, my understanding is they aren't aware of each others' existence and thus would not close together on exit.

Just wanted to add my whole hearted support for this feature request. Smile

Although once categories is released it may make this request irrelevant (or at the very least not as necessary).

It amazes me that on the internet you can be anything you want, and yet so many people still choose to be idiots.
