can somebody help me about running my portable firefox at my work's computer? it used to work no problem insert the usb drive click the icon firefox and its working, now yesterday when i clicked the icon nothing is happening anymore, something is blocking the firefox or something. any help would be aprreciated. thanks.
Have you changed anything in you setup recently? has the company sent out any emails stating they are upgrading the network? Have you tried copying the folder to the desktop and trying from there? Try downloading a stock version of FFP to your desktop and try that one, if it works then most likely the one on your usb has become corrupt.
Also, try running firefox while the task manager is open and watch for the firfox.exe process to appear and see if it stays on or is shutdown. If it is stopped then, something was probably added to the pc to stop firfox from running. That would be a company issue that, more than likely, if you try to bypass could get you fired. Be careful.
Try the above and post back.

Your company may have started using a proxy server. If so, you would have to update FF to use the proxy server.
However, I upgraded Portable Firefox (sic) to 1.5.0.6 and it wouldn't work at my school. I had to downgrade.
I think it's a Firefox issue though.

Where I'm work at on some compture the fire fox will not load. But on some if I get luck it will load. there is no proxy on the net work but surf control. i dont under stay why firefox will not load.
Must be a SurfControl problem.

Perhaps surf control is preventing firefox.exe from running properly. How about renaming it? You rename it in App\firefox to, say happyapp.exe. And then copy the example INI from Other\FirefoxPortableSource to the FirefoxPortable directory and set the FirefoxExecutable to happyapp.exe in the INI. Give it a shot and report back.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
But I can't try it for 2 more days. 4 day weekend.

I try to rename dose not work
I try down grade it dosn't work so I'm useing my back up Opera. But I reall like Fire fox more. this is the only thing working on the network right now. If anybody has a good idea on getting firefox to work let me know.
It only changed between 1.5.0.5 and 1.5.0.6 so it might not be that.
I'll check the change list.
Edit: The only change was Fixed an issue with playing Windows Media content so I don't see how that caused problems. I can confirm it works once I downgrade to 1.5.0.5
Weird, huh?
