Avast

Do you think it would be possible to add Avast Anti-Virus?

My guess is no

I'm not sure it would be possible simply because the license is probably very restrictive. It looks like it's free for personal, but not corporate use which hints that it might not be distributable as a portable app. That is to say nothing of the likelihood that it probably heavily uses the registry, so making it portable might be a technical nightmare or even an impossibility.

Even so, there is always a question as to why you'd want a real-time portable virus scanner. You could argue that any computer you use, even a public one, should already be running some kind of real-time protection (and that you never ever want to run two or more real-time protections simulataneously).

If you want to "pre-screen" an unknown computer before you start using it, there's always ClamWin Portable and SpyDLLRemover Portable.

Alright

That is what I figured, but I wanted to make sure. Never hurts to ask. Thanks for your input!

RE: Alright

No, it doesn't. Don't take my answer as gospel, someone more knowledgeable than I will be able to give you a more definitive answer.

Bad wording

What I said in my last post came out not entirely clear. What I really meant to say was:
I figure the Licensing on Avast would cause problems of making it apart of portableapps.

Probably not...

Well, they have a U3 version...

But I doubt that it would be beneficial for them ATM, what with version 5 soon, they are probably more worried about that...

That said, I would go for an On Demand one...

But I think they aren't looking to do on-demand only...designed from ground up for resident protection...
