Hey all. Midi here. Just got a couple things I wanna get up here.
QUESTION 1:
I'm making my app in Game Maker 7, so if I use the install creator, is it going to try and modify the program to add the splash screen? If not I can make the splash screen myself, but then that leads to my second question.
QUESTION 2:
If my game gets put on the list here, would I be told of the URL for it before it gets fully released so I can fill out the URL banner on the bottom?
FYI:
Games made in Game Maker can't work if they go through the app compressor, so if you want to make GM games smaller, you'll have to compress the resources in their folders, and just program the game to add resources from the directories. A bit of extra coding is needed, I acknowledge this, but it's worth it for file size.

Hi Midi Waffle. The installer is just for packaging apps. Splash screens are added by developers and up to them. If you'd like one, we can do that before the actual release if you want it to be a PortableApps.com release.
And the extra coding to reduce size is appreciated for those with smaller drives

Yeah, I'd love it to be on PortableApps.com! Who should I talk to about setting that up?
Also, the game itself won't be up for a while. Should I make a topic for it's development here? Or is this just for development in general, and projects go in another board? (Sorry, I gots a headache today, so I'm a little out of it.)
It's best to develop it first, but you can start posting beta versions in the forums as soon as they are ready as long as they are in PortableApps.com Format. Development questions and discussions go in the Development forum. Beta testing stuff goes in the Beta forum.
