How to use the Clamwin?
I've been downloading two version of Clamwin portables. But, it doesn't work. How to use it anyway?
Anti Virus
Its an anty virus program. You run it and then check your files.
It doesnt have an on-access-scanner and doesnt run in the background as its only for manual scans.
It's not terribly
It's not terribly complicated, you run the launcher and it should pop up the main window. If it's the first time running it it'll ask to download anti-virus updates and then you can perform a scan.
If it just won't start, there is a chance you have a virus that is actively blocking anti-virus products from running. Find a technically-inclined friend and ask him to look at your PC for you to be sure.
I've tried
I've tried to check those too. On my own PC, I got Avast!, IObit 360 Security, Sandboxie. No infection what so ever.
The problem is just that I don't or can't use the "Scan" button when I click on it.
Twitter
John, it looks like you're auto-tweeting these news pages (cool).
But it looks like this:
"ClamWin Portable 0.95.3 Released: ClamWin Portable 0.95.3 has been released. ClamWin Portable is the popular..." etc
The title seems a bit redundant. Since you mostly post in the same format anyway, maybe you could experiment with not putting the title of the news post in the tweet, so more content can fit in there.
Of course non-release news posts shouldn't do that, ideally. Maybe you can have the auto-tweeter thing decide whether or not to remove the title based on either the first few words in the post (IE it checks for redundancy) or the categories the news post is in (IE it will only remove the title for releases).
Fixed
It's been fixed. We were auto-tweeting previously, but it broke down last week. I'm setting it up again today but it inadvertently tried to add in some of the description (which is silly). It should be sorted out in the next couple hours.
