Run in Background or Pause Feature

When Toucan runs it might as well put a lock on my hard drive. I have a laptop, so I only have a 5400rpm drive, but still. When Toucan runs I can do almost nothing; even web browsing slows down sometimes. In case it matters I have 4GB of RAM and a Core 2 Duo 2.5GHz processor, so I think the problem in this case is just the hdd. I'm requesting a run in background feature or a pause feature for when I need to load something up while doing a backup. I could run the backups at night or when I'm away from my computer, but I hate leaving my laptop on when I'm not using it because it gets too hot (my graphics card already died once).

On a side note, the screen resolution problems seem to be solved for good. Thanks.

This

does sound very odd, what particularly were you doing with Touca, Sync, Backup or Secure?

It certainly slows things up

It certainly slows things up when I run backups but in this case I am talking about the sync update option. I sync files ranging from 4MB (music and pics) to several GB (movies). The browser issue I mentioned I think is not related to toucan but rather flash programs that make things laggy. But there is no question in my mind that toucan slows down read/write performance of other programs.

Ah

ok, are you running other things from the drive at the same time?

I am not running things from

I am not running things from the drive that toucan is backing up to. But I can't run programs from the source drive that require lots of read/write at the same time toucan is running.
