I used the Portable Gaim 1.5 beta 2 archiv and exchanced the "old" Gaim with the new Gaim 2.0 beta 1 files and also used the new GTK. It's multilingual, without the spell checker!

The new gaim runs with no probs....for now ^^;
I have d/l it just some hours ago and impressed me alot!
New menus and compatibility, now i would like to see support for msn' custom messages ^_^
If you are a gaim user, you MUST try it out!

Despite the negative reviews ive read about Gaim 2.0b1 this works really great. Much better than 1.5 imo. Thank you for 'porting' this Little Buddha!
