PAM Suggestions And a question

I have a couple of suggestions that I would like to share And a question.

First:
An import and export settings feature. So if you have an app on your computer and on your portable drive Like Firefox you could import you bookmarks, passwords and settings to you portable drive.
I would like to do that as a project but I will need help Sad

Second:
PAM add-ons. I think it will be cool if the Portable apps menu could have add ons so that if you want to you could choose to have the PA.c Backup utility, the soon to come PA.c updater or the PAM Desktop Icon. Also it would allow developers to make apps like a Facebook app, Twitter, rss reader and more...

Question:
John said here that he is thinking about adding .NET app list. So I thought it would be a good idea to start a .NET forum topic for people to request .NET apps to make portable. If that is ok let me know I will create it and keep a list of .NET apps that have been made portable.

There's an experimental thing for that actually, called Mozilla Weave. Syncs bookmarks, passwords, history, cookies, even open tabs.

Right now, most people are amazed that the updater is coming out. Wink It'll be a while.

I was using Firefox as a example it would be for any portable program that has setting and such.

It was just an idea I was putting out there.

Would I be able to make a sticky in the Beta Forum?

Syncing?

Oh, actually I was thinking of doing something like that, where I have a TrueCrypt volume and FreeFileSync. Then I can run it off of my computer when I don't feel like plugging it in, and I also get PortableApps on my flash drive. Best of both worlds.

that is what I was thinking

that is what I was thinking about I did not word it right :/
but now I have thought of more stuff that it could do.

I think I will make something in nsis.

What it will do:
You will be able to sync a portable version with a local install (vice versa)
Export settings to a .zip file or .pa*).
Import settings from a .zip file or .pa*.
(.pa* = Portableapps *Setings,Sync,Exporter? Witch will be .zip with a changed file type)
Backup settings.
Thats all I can think of.

I hope I explained it a bit better.

Universal Launcher

I think this would get a WHOLE LOT easier when the Universal Launcher comes out, because then the stuff is automated.

Ya

When it's done, you can just input some registry keys, a few files, maybe a few command lines, then it compiles, tests, and packages the app for you. Similar to the Portable App Creator.
