Google Chrome Problem

My antivirus 'Avast' recently updated, and since then, when I open Chrome on portable apps, download Chrome or try to install it, Avast detects it as a virus (malware)

Just thought I'd point that out because I can't afford to turn it off when using chrome and I like using that browser.

If there's anything you can do, I'd appreciate the help.

Edit: Not just chrome but portable apps itself too is detected

Same here, it just happened

Same here, it just happened to me recently while opening and trying to download an updated version.

Malware Name: Win32:delf-MZG [Trj]
Malware Type: Trojan Horse
12/02/09

Edit: Only Google Chrome does this for me, PAM runs fine.

False positive

Please check it online with either VirusTotal or Jotti. You'll find that it's clean; all our official applications are. Then please report it to them as a false positive.

Please read the paragraph near the bottom about AV.

Googling Win32:delf-MZG indicates it is a source of many false positives, and that it has been caused by a recent update to Avast. I am guessing that Win32:delf-MZG does not represent a specific trojan horse but is a blanket term used by a particular AV software to indicate it has detected *possible* trojan horse behavior but it does not find any specific known trojan horse.

Please update Avast as indicated in the article above, it may cause the trojan horse warning to simply disappear.

I am confident there are no viruses in Google Chrome Portable. First of all, I run Microsoft Security Essentials and it has reported nothing while I have been building and coding GCP. Secondly, and more importantly, I use common sense while surfing the web. Smile
