You can't

You can't put this on PortableApps.com. It is not open-source. And second, just put custstat.dll into the directory where the .exe is.

Being free doesn't

Being free doesn't automatically make it open-source.. the Microsoft EULA still apply, and it is not licensed under GPL.

Also, only the installer for it is available. You can't compile Visual Basic Express itself, since you don't have the source.

#develop

If you want to make a VB.NET IDE Portable, you should make #develop portable. It is also a C# and a boo IDE.

Found a portable version of #develop...

I found a portable version of it does anyone know of a way to use the .net framework w/out admin rights to install it? Several computers i have used at my school don't have it so i need to find a way to put it on my flash drive. Thanks for the previous help, if anyone wants i will try to post a link to #develop portable if i can find it. When you go to the link you will have to download the doc rename it to a zip then uncompress it.

No Legal Way

There is currently no legal way to handle .NET portably. .NET is not portable.

One of the old Visual Studio

One of the old Visual Studio Express IDEs might work portably since they don't require .NET runtime. However, they still can't be posted on here because of GPL restrictions and all that, so you'd have to keep it private.

you could try the mono.net

you could try the mono.net which is a project belonging to Mono-Project group and is an open-source implimentation of the .net framework and includes a c# compiler (and also IDE)

Read above

There isn't one and it can't be done legally.

There is already a Portable #devlop

And it can automatically download and install the .NET framework on machines that do not have it (after asking you). However, this requires admin rights. See here.

EDIT: There is also a howto for making a portable version of #Develop on the sharpdevelop blog, here. It doesn't make it in portableapps format, but that's easy enough to fix.

Crazy2be the first link you

Crazy2be the first link you mentioned is technically dead. The versions mentioned there no longer exist, as the site give a german thing that i think basically explains that the internet explorer could not display the page or something.
