PFF issues on XP

I normally use PFF on a Win2000 machine at work (that does not have regular Firefox installed). It works fine. When I try to use PFF with my thumb drive on any XP machine (that has Firefox on them), it does not start up. When I installed I took the default directory structure and haven't renamed anything. Any suggestions? TIA

It's probably an extension

It's most likely an extension that doesn't like the drive letter change. Try a default unzip of PFF and see if that works on the XP box (running from the desktop is just fine). Don't forget, if FF is already running, you can't use PFF until you close it. And some locations SPECIFICALLY block firefox.exe from running from an attached drive.

PFF doesn't load

I have been running 1.5 for about a week with no problem. Today, it won't load and I get a MS error report message. 1.0.7 still works fine and I downloaded a new copy of 1.5 and it won't run either. I am wondering if the MS patch has blocked something in 1.5?

Problem resolved

It looks like rebooting my system fixed the issue. It looks like once the error occured, it couldn't clear it from memory. Booting and restarting the portable disk allowed 1.5 to start and function normally.

FF Errors

When FF has an error, sometimes firefox.exe will get stuck running. Starting a new copy won't help it. This happens with the local one, too. While rebooting will fix it, it's often quicker to fire up task manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL on XP) and kill the process.
