I had heard a little about the bugs before, but I can't remember exactly what they were. Are there any new problems with this one, as far as anyone can tell? :/

"Once bitten"? What do you mean?
I have Notepad++ Portable 5.6 and have yet to experience a single problem... :S

It all started with version 5.5. I had problems with plugins not updating (or updating erroneously) and settings not being remembered. I was told it wasn't a universal problem but at least half a dozen other users experienced the same problems. The only solution was to do a "fresh install".

I too have not experienced any of the same issues with 5.6.1, so I'm happy. Granted I still haven't put back half my settings yet either, like the custom syntax highlighting that kept getting lost. Beee Oh well, just a blip in the Notepad++ road, and not really the fault of PA.c at all.

Oh, I see. Never had any problems like that, but you're saying half-a-dozen users so... guess I maybe got lucky?
Anyway, glad to hear it's all good! Smile

Probably because I've done a little bit of customization with it. Perhaps if you've never done any customization e.g. loaded other plugins, created your own syntax highlighters etc then you're fine.

I've actually done a bit of customization myself... no custom plugins and no custom syntax highlighters, but I changed the "Launch in Firefox" command to use FF Portable and added "Launch in Chrome" and "Launch in Iron" options.
Still, sounds like your NPP is way more tweaked than mine is...
