Has anybody seen the write-ups for the Iomega v. Clone drive?
From what I can see, it is a portable hard drive that is pre-loaded with PortableApps.com applications and pre-configured to allow you to transport all of your stuff from a work computer to a home computer or wherever else, too. They even mention that it is good for backup since you always have redundant copies of your stuff, should one of the machines fail.

It's going to be a software solution, part of their Iomega Protection Suite, so I am assuming you would need to have an Iomega drive. I have never found their portable drives to be at a good price/performance point to buy one since my Jaz drive became obsolete many moons ago. Now if they would add USB3 to match the new board I'lm looking at...
Might be worth watching though. Perhaps someone can stop in and see them at CES to give us a better scoop.
I used to sign here, but the ink keeps smudging on my screen.
The site specifically says:
So, my point is that I'm surprised that we haven't seen any announcements on PortableApps.com about the Iomega connection. It would seem that we'd see some
braggingpress releases here. Or did I just miss them?neutron1132 (at) usa (dot) com
I think John's plan was to keep any news like this under wraps until details of the partnerships were finalized and the product was actually ready to ship

Uh oh.. somebody let the cat out the bag... guess we're gonna have to give him a good kickin' now.
I think when you read it, it means that the authors at EverythingUSB will still use PortableApps for 99% of there stuff, not that Iomega is going to.
That's the way I understood it anyway, and the application stuff I got from Iomega's site and there's no mention there of anything PA.

That's what it looks like to me too. the v.Clone app creates a Virtual Image of your current operating system and allows you to run that image from specific iomega brand drives. They don't mention using PortableApps.com applications at all.

I think you guys are right. Iomega isn't the one talking about PortableApps.com, EverythingUSB is.
Sorry for the fire drill.

It looked really nice up until they said you needed administrator rights on the host PC.
