the boot CD is called Hirens Boot CD V.8.3.... all i have to say is thank god for this because it can rest all the passwords on any given Windows machine. You i have so amny passwords i tend to forget them, this disc has saved me a lot of time. Thank you, Hiren.

all of the software is so out of date, the makers do really care at this point of time, they have made their share of money on thi sproduct they don tcare any more.

If you want the same disk but from the start a completely free and legal disk go to www.ultimatebootcd.com It is completely free of all warez and is easy to use. It even includes password rest tools for sysadmins and such.
Hirens is pure warez and I would not touch it with a Koala's pecker.

please explain any if any warez included on Hirens. i have looked at UltimateBoot Cd and they wanted over a hundred dollars for it that was three months ago. im happy with Hirens... i dont beilve that there is any warez. please explain, thank you.

You're kidding, right? The very first program listed in the contents page, Parition Magic, is warez. So is Norton Ghost. And McAfee Antivirus. And Parition Commander. And...
It's an illegal, warez boot CD. Pure and simple.

Ultimate boot CD has Mcafee anti-virus, tell me that is not the same as Hirens.

The "small fee" mentioned is if you want a cd mailed to you. Download & burning is free. I have used it for a long time, and it has always been free.

You just have too. Because if you think all of that software on that disk is freeware, then I think you need to take a trip to a computer stor. Partition Magic, and Norton Ghost alone, could get you into some serious legal situations. I ask you then: show me where you found that it was stated to all be open and freeware. From what I find, it is being sold on eBay, that alone is illegal. If you buy it, you are going to have a real bad day.
Also, ultimate boot cd has been free from its beginnings, I would suggest you look at that site again, and this time READ IT.

If you blew that much money on a free CD that is comletely free with no strings attached then there is a sucker born every minute. Let me guess... You would also spend $150 for a MAME set that can be downloaded for free.
eBay is for making money and scamming suckers when it comes to software. I, like many other people, search for those AHoles that sell this free stuff on ebay and report them for illegal sales. I am sorry that you got suckered in but using Hirens is the worst thing you could do even more so than spending bank on free stuff.

i hope you have actually realized now that hirens is a warez disk through and through. UBCD is completely free and free to download and use. You can evn customize it to your liking if you needed to add like ghost or some other non free app to it it is very easily done.

We're 100% sure Hirens contains warez (aka stolen/cracked software). There is no free/trial version of Norton Ghost that's allowed to be installed on a Live CD and distributed. Heck, there's a hacked copy of Win98 on that CD, too.

as it's description/keywords.

UBCD has the same exact programs here and there, tell me were that on Hirens it contains warez, whlie you are saying that exact same program on UBCD does not have the warez you claim it has. please explain.

Alright, this is *really* simple. It contains Norton Ghost and Windows 98. Neither of these are available as a trial/freeware edition that you're allowed to place on a CD and redistribute. I had mentioned McAfee before, but there apparently is a standalone version that's free (which is how it's on UBCD). Either way, setting aside UBCD for a minute... we're 100% sure that Hirens Boot CD contains warez (Ghost and Windows 98) and is thus illegal. Illegal to distribute, illegal to download, illegal to have a copy of. If you want to use it, that's fine for you (unless you get caught of course). But please don't go around trying to pretend it contains legal software.
Now, unless you have something else constructive to add, please drop it.

To clarify about McAfee on UBCD - if you take time to check things out, they include/link to the "superdat" file. As in virus definition updates, not program.

Being as I am baronvonfoxbat7734 from over on the UBCD forum, I can assure you that UBCD is free. The author, Victor Chew, has recevied permission from all authors. Those that he has not received permission, they are allowed due to there licenses.
Hirens contains comercial software that is not allowed to be re-distributed. Ghost and Win98 just to mention 2 off of that disk. There is more than that and it is detestable that people think that it is UBCD and such.
People who think UBCD is warez need to have there head examined and sent back to school to learn how to read as they can't understand what is stated on the UBCD site.

Just poked my head to the hirens site and I can assure you that half of the software is illegal. There is way to much to list but adding to the ghost and win98, there is acronis drive image and Ontrack tools of which are all warez. Would you like for me to list more for you? maybe some lisecnse quotes from manufacturers?
