Local Folders x 3 - cannot figure..

I upgraded my PTB from 2.0.0.23 to the new 3.1 today - actually I upgraded my 3 different instances of PTB, each with 4 mail accounts, to the new 3.1 and with 2 of the 3 it went like a breeze - like it always does!! - but with one of my instances the upgrade runs without problems, all my mails and address books are present, my add-ons upgrades without problems BUT I am stuck with three instances of "Local Folders". Usually I have only one and I don't use it. I keep each account in separate boxes (see http://ding4.no/PTB3_3LocalFolders.jpg). I cannot find what the difference is between this instance as opposed to the other 2, I tried deleting "Local Folders" manually from the ....\profile\Mail\ subfolder but they keep popping up again when I restart PTB.
I will note that this is quite an old instance of PTB and it's been upgraded regularly over the years without problems, but this time it really frustrates me. Yes I know it might be seen as only a "cosmetic" prblem, but still...
Any ideas anybody? Where to look for the extra 2 "Local Folders"?

seems to be a bug

but I am surprised, that it is not fixed yet, if you search internet, many people have similar problem with the TB 3x

Here some possible cure:

in our case, the file is found in :

\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable\Data\profile

Thanks for the helpful reply!

Maybe a bug but the replay made me fiddle around a bit with the prefs.js fiel, deleteing "account1" which got rid of one of the instances of "Local Folders" and then cancelling out some of the lines starting with user_pref("mail.account.account and bingo! now I've only got one instance of "Local Folders".
Now it remains to see whether it its stable...
