FFP extremely slow to load (3-5 minutes)

Downloaded the latest version, purchased a new flash drive specifically for this purpose.

SO, how do I get this app to load in a shorter time than 3-5 minutes. (New Dell Quad Core, 4gb memory, Win7)

I have to simply walk away for a few minutes and then come back to the machine in order to use this app.

Read the FAQs and did a search but did not find any specific answers as to why and how.

I tested

on generic usb flash which have rated speed of some 8mb read /3mb write and yes can confirm that it takes something like that in time. This is probably normal.
On one of my miniature sticks similar to pico sticks it takes also so long.
Most simple low price flash today are multi level flash cell chips and the controllers build in are also not faster.

I am using therefore some more expensive once, they read abt 24mb/sec and write abt 10-12 mb /sec and this is more comfortable to work with.

edit:

measured time now on my slowest stick, it takes 2min 20sec until FFP 3.6 is ready for use.
It appears on the screen after abt 1min 50sec, but then it takes some more time until it can be used really.
In fact on this slow stick it is rather useless, since it stopps and starts all the time, not big fun at all.

On my fast stick, it takes abt 20sec before ff is ready to use.

First Run?

Were you measuring a first or second run? Remember that Firefox is downloading its antiphishing database for the first run or so and writing about 40mb to the drive. It's best to test it after that point.

Oh, sh..!

you are dead right boss, on the slow one stick it was just after big update installed, checked now again, it needs some half of the time only.
