Google Chrome Support Forum

how about a Forum for Chrome?

after all it's the fastest growing browser, it deserves it's own forum.

and how about updating the portable versions of Chrome stable, beta and developers, the beta and developers versions on this site are a month old!!, several new versions have been released since.

how can I help packaging the new versions into portable format? I want to help.

It'll be using the Other Forum for now and eventually be using the Internet Apps Support forum when we restructure them. Chrome is seriously dwarfed by Firefox in portable usage, so it doesn't really need its own forum. And it's freeware, so we can't package it directly, so it won't be promoted as Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition is.

The beta and developers versions will be done at snapshot intervals but we won't be doing every release. There are far too many and they're generally not designed for normal usage... testing only... and bug reports within it won't be accepted anyway.

The current 4.0 stable version is in testing in the beta forums. We wanted a longer test period for a major revision, especially as this is the launch of the first attempt at extensions and they've been pretty buggy in the test releases. So we're doing some extra testing rather than throw something out there and find issues with it a day later. You can grab the test release and help us make sure it's bug-free, though Smile

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
