I installed it 2 times from 2 different downloads to make sure the installation was correct, but it doesn't work on my Portable with Vista.
Nothing, no window appears to show that it is even starting.

Do the md5 sums match? (You'll need to get md5hash, get the md5 of your download, and compare it to the md5 on the Chrome download page)
If not, your download is corrupted. If they do match, something else is going on.

Yes, they match.
And it's the only portable app that doesn't work on my system.
Is the failure in the installation step? If so it could be due to a firewall blocking access to the internet or access to Google's server, where it downloads Chrome from.

No, it installs correctly, shows in the menu, but when I click it in the menu, the menu closes as when any program starts, but nothing else happens
I don't know why, but after posting my other post, I tried it again, and today it works just as supposed.
And I noticed that today, contrary to yesterday, the mouse arrow changes to the activity icon while loading the program.
Well, I suppose I'll never know what happened yesterday.

I have exactly the same problem.
I have installed Chrome Portable without any issues. But when I double click the exe file nothing happens.
