Hello,
i need a Browser to show some .html documents from a cd. So i choose the Firefox Portable V 2.0.20 and modify it as i need. The V2 because it´s small, fast and there are no updates needed. The Browser is working so far. But at one of my Testsystems the Browser opens not the startpage (defined in the firefoxportable.ini) but he opens a page wich is telling me that the google toolbar was succesfull installed. Furthermore the Bitdefender Toolbar apear in the Browser. The Systems is Windows XP with a local installation f FF 3.5 and bitdefender.
I have disabled all updatechecks for browser and extensions on my portable, nevertheless the googletoolbar installing itself. Closing the Browser and reopen takes the same effect.
How can i prevent that extenal toolbars or applications install when i start my Browser from cd?
thx for Help
this is getting more and more a problem, some time ago microsoft started to push some plugins that way and others followed.
For some of those forced plugins, there are some instructions in internet, sometimes it needs some correction of an entry in the about.config and the 'plugin' is kind of present but disabled and will not disturb and not install all the time again.
At least I managed to half clear some of them.
But it seems , that people find again new versions and ways to push those nonsense items to your FF.
Try to search for those specific plugins in internet, it i smore general thing, not only related to portable FF

thats not nice to hear
to disable all plugins is not a good solution, because i can only disable the plugins which i know at this time... if the cd is burned, it´s over with disable
i need a solution for "freeze" the FFP in this state when i burn.
Hi. You don't need to disable all the plugins! Try the solution offered by Benedikt93.
It's simple and it works
