Hi,
I have installed Portable Firefox and it updates itself correctly, with nightly builds every day.
Now I have installed Portable Thunderbird and it is not updating.
How I could to force Portable Thunderbird to update itself using a nightly build ?
Thanks
Leo
The nightly build updater is not a standard Mozilla update process and hasn't been analyzed for portability. Thus, it isn't supported with the portable versions right now.
That said... I honestly don't know. It could simply be that it's just not portable. Did you try it with the launcher that's a part of the current Thunderbird Portable pre-release 1.5.0.7 (check the beta forum).

I forget to say:
I am using Portable Firefox 2.0, with nightly builds working perfectly. Portable Firefox 2.0 download each day a nightly build and update itself.
And now I am trying to use Portable Thunderbird 2.0. With Portable Thunderbird 2.0, the "Check for Updates" option dont download any nightly build.
My question is: Are someway to configure Portable Thunderbird 2.0 to download nightly ?
Or can I download a full nightly and update the Portable Thunderbird folder ?
Do you have the Update Channel Selector because you need to set Thunderbird to get on the "nightly" update channel in order to get the nightly updates.
Now I have it installed.
This extension "Update Channel Selector" works perfectly.
Now I have updated the Portable Thunderbird to build:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060923 Thunderbird/2.0b1pre ID:2006092304
Thanks !
But the launcher within Thunderbird Portable 1.5.0.7 Pre-Release is more recent (and more bug-free) than the older one released with Thunderbird Portable 2.0 test.
