Now i use a Corsair Voyager 16GB GT.
But it feels like glue =S
When i install the suit, i takes over 45min.
i got 11GB free space.
And when i start FF it freezes, from start to go into one webpages can take up to few minutes.
Got this speeds: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showpost.php?p=441182&postcount=7
And corsair says it "normal" so i dont know what wrong.
Have formated and tried whit both NTFS,FAT32.
And still like glue.
So i started to look after another thumb drive, any tip what i should get?
this speed seems to be ok for normal multi level flash.
Write speeds might be somehow faster on single level flash , but not so much that you will notice.
Those generic sticks from shop at next corner will be about 30% of the speed you found. (they are rated 8-read, 3-write) Nothing to worry about.
There are faster sticks around, but you might spent lot of money before you will notice some big improvement.
I have single level flash stick called PURE II from disk2go, they are somewhat faster, but not so much in read, just the write can be sometimes faster, measured some 9-15 in write, some 18-29 read depending on what task.
So there is nothing wrong, the sticks are so. That is why I always wonder what the hell are people going to do with modern operating system being run from such stick.
And on the FF, switch off all chaching, this is will make thing faster too.

Thanks for a good answer.
Well why im runnig from a stick is just when im not home, on a coffeshop, or another public comp its or at work.
Not allways got space to use a external harddrive.
Some intressting is samsung S1 min 1,8" drive.
Waiting for a friend got one so i can try it.
So thats nice to got all work, pages and so on the stick
Will test the chach off and see if there be a improve.
Sad to say, your speeds are pretty much average for current flash drives. Your read speed is about as fast as you can get with a USB 2.0 interface, the connection maxes out at around 33MB/s. There are some flash drives that are supposed to get similar write speeds, but they cost quite a bit more, so I haven't tried any of them myself. The fastest flash drive I have tested myself is an OCZ Diesel 16GB, it gets 33MB/s read and 15 MB/s write. In any case, installing the suite always takes a long time, because all flash drives have horrible random write speeds and the suite has a lot of tiny files.
I'm not sure about your Firefox problem, though. Mine takes a while to start up, but then runs fairly normal.
My OCZ Rally2 was running dirt slow so I did the following and it's now running acceptably:
1. Set the disk policy to run for Performance (be careful to remove safely)
2. Format as FAT32 with 64kb units (I know it's wasteful but it really makes a difference with run speeds)
I used to have my work desktop hand for up to a minute while running Thunderbird. Now it rarely hangs for more than a few seconds.
Read my post here about other drives' speed and follow the links provided.
