Some applications have their own splash screen.
Maybe in those that it is appropriate you should just add a PortableApps.com logo to the corner, instead of completely changing the splash screen so we wont lose the splash screen image of the original App?

It seems to me that people like to abuse branding (if you ever did some huge original work that you are really proud of while not in elementary school, you would too).
Stellarium's is comical. It has a flash drive meteorite :P.

That meteorite would have been better for Eclipse
The current GIMP splash screen is more from when we had done our own in addition to GIMP's (when GIMP took longer to start and flash drives were slower). We never took the time to do one that incorporated GIMP's. I'll do that with the revision I'm posting shortly with a couple bug fixes.
