cross OS usage

If this has been discussed before, I apologize.

Is there any way to set one profile on a USB drive that can be used be both Thunderbird Portable for Windows and Thunderbird Portable for OS X without any hassle of syncing? Basically, I will be using both OS's and want my one profile to be active for both versions without noticing a difference.

Thanks for the help.

I don't think there's a way

I don't think there's a way to get your OSX TB to use a profile folder other than one inside its directory.

Oh yes, there is a way!!!

I think, there is another thread here on that topic. Nevertheless, I post the link here:
http://www.theplaceforitall.com/portablefirefox/

There you can find a copy for Mac and Win of both Thuinderbird and Firefox.
Enjoy!!

Simeon, That works great,

Simeon,

That works great, except for the fact that I already moved all of my mail and settings from Entourage to Thunderbird Portable for OS X, and of course deleted it from my hard disk. Is there any way to move my profile from Portable for OS X to the cross platform version? Thanks again.

Did you try just to copy

Did you try just to copy them?

Else try the Mozilla-Forums or

http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/profile
http://helpdesk.doit.wisc.edu/page.php?id=3598
http://www.broobles.com/imapsize/th2outlook.php

I didn't check the links so I don't know whether they're helpfull or not.
Besides I'm not a Mac-user so I can't try it myself.

In my Portable OS X folder

In my Portable OS X folder there is no profile folder, just the program and read me file. Does anyone know how to get to the profile in portable OS X?

Thanks again.
