Flash 8 - could be done ?

I am not asking for illegal stuff I just want to understand if would be possible to run Macromedia Flash 8 from and external USB HD.

What kind of problems could happen ?

Would be possible to use Liberta' ?

Thanks

issues

Here are some things i think might be issues
1st: if you plan on makeing it portable, you have to worry about reg.
2nd: some older programs (not shure if Flash 8 applys) have hardcoded directorys they use for finding certin files
3rd: the program might slow down because it is installed through USB
4th: There may be some issues with settings and dir.

I don't know about liberta though

I'm actually working on that one right now. If/when I get the time to finish it, I'll let you know what I had to do to pull it off...

Um,

When you say Liberta, do you mean Libertà Lapwing?
If so, could be possible, but wait a while. Us Libertà folks have something up our sleeves Wink (Well, Steve does anyway :D)

Yeh,

well, you aren't really in the "circle". Blum Mind you, I wasn't til lately either.
For example, you probably don't even know about AutoStart's API which I start documenting soon. Biggrin

BTW, has anyone seen Mark lately?

yep :)

Yes I was talking about Lapwing actually I guess the only problem with Flash 8 would be the registry writes so wrapping the writes to a file should fix the prob.

Actually the registration registry entries should be virtualized through the wrapper too.

I do not know if Flash 8 needs anything else to run ....

edit :

actually going through the registry I saw that flash 8 has some ocx registered, under system32/Macromed/Flash ..... but I am not sure they are needed to run it.
