Firefox Portable uses an unaltered copy of Firefox within. If you want to design a website so it's compatible with Firefox, this really wouldn't be the place to ask about that. (Use Google)

I guess I'm confused. When I look at pages of my website on the net I can see the background images to the pages (built with FrontPage) when I look at them in Firefox portable from the same machine, I am unable to see the background images.
Just wondering if there is a parameter to turn them on in Firefox.
This has *nothing* to do with Firefox Portable. This is a Firefox issue. More specifically, it is a Frontpage issue (Frontpage produces *AWFUL* non-compliant HTML). You should ask this in a web development forum such as this one. Not in a support forum for the portable app.

Neglected to point out I am viewing them in MS Explorer and portable Firefox is latest.
