The Portable Version on the TeamViewer website has a caveat in the readme:
*Using TeamViewer 5 Portable requires a TeamViewer Premium or Corporate license.
Does this apply to the portable app version?
I assume a similar code base

License type should be in evidence BEFORE the download of a product.
My personal point of view is than PortableApps site should promote Open Source first and AVOID product with commercial licence.

It's clear in announcements and on the product pages. ("It's released as freeware for personal, education and non-profit use (business use requires a license") And will be even more clear with the new app directory which will launch soon. You can filter to just show open source in the new app directory as well.

It's important to allow all types of software to participate in an open platform.

Hi

I able to set the desired interface language settings for my session only.
The next time I run the app, it reverts back to my OS language settings.
My OS is english but my regional sessings and KB input is French
The app alweays starts in French

Is there a key I can add to ..\Data\settings\TeamViewer.ini or elsewhere, to force a language on start?

Thanks

Yes, from the README.txt:

"By setting importsettings=1 you activate the automatic settings import. TeamViewer will import the settings from a file called tv.ini which has to be situated in the same directory as your TeamViewer.exe. You can create the tv.ini by exporting your settings in the advanced options of TeamViewer."

Hi

Thanks for the quick reply however, it still will not change language.
I have tried several workstations (XP & Vista)
TV version = 5.0.8081P

Teamviewer.ini contains importsettings=1
TV.INI exists in the correct directory and contains the line
Machine:SelectedLanguage="en"

TV continues to start in French however the Options|Advanced|Display language says "English"

Regardless of the TV.INI setting, TV starts in the OS language
I'm thinking maybe a bug in the portable version?

If you delete all the dll files from X:\PortableApps\TeamViewerPortable\App\teamviewer\ other than the language you want (i.e. en for english), then TeamViewer Portable will open in the proper language.

Ah ha! Figured it out
Teamviewer.ini setting "nosave" must be set to 0
By default it is set to 1

[settings]
nosave=0

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

sorry dude but you didn't figure it out Beee
if you change "nosave=1" to "nosave=0" it will write the settings in the registry so it's not portable anymore.
As far as i could understand it will only allow changing settings if you have a valid "TeamViewer Premium or Corporate license".
the workaround, for changing the language, is to delete (or zip) the other language files (TeamViewer_Resource_??.dll)
hope it helps
