Running a program with command line switches

Hi there

I recently installed Google Chrome Portable and I am trying to run it with a command switch to configure the proxy server settings as I dont have Admin access on my PC.

I have tried to run the executable in the \GoogleChromePortable\App\Chrome-bin directory but it wont open with or without switches.

I have also tried adding the switch into the GoogleChromePortable.ini file in the
Google ChromeExecutable=chrome.exe line but with no luck.

Is there any reason the chrome.exe file wont run? Other portable apps I have run without using the portable app launcher but not chrome.

If it wont run, is there any other way to pass the switch to the executable?

AdditionalSettings

In the INI, set AdditionalSettings= and then enter any command line options you like.

If you ever run an app directly without the PA.c launcher, it's not portable. Some apps will use local settings on your work PC. Some will store their settings in the wrong place and leave behind some registry keys or blank directories. And a couple will just store stuff in the wrong place and may not pick it up properly when you get to another PC and properly launch them with the PA.c launcher.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

That Works!

Yeh I forgot to mention that I tried that but it still wouldnt work.

Its actually due to a known bug with Google Chrome working behind an ISA proxy using a routing script.

Tried using another switch, one to run it maximized and that worked so that is clearly the place to put the switches.

Looks like I'll be using IE6 in work forever!

Thanks the speedy reply anyway!
