Does XnView really need portablization?

For plenty of years I'm have an portable installation of XnView
on each optical media with my photos.
It works pretty well.
However, I didn't never check how is its coexistence with the local installation on PC.
In exact the same way I have installed this app to my pen drive.
Just a copy of all binaries, plug-ins, add-ons and init files to
pen drive.
Why is the XnView Portable then necessary for?

Good question

If you follow the guidelines written here, you won't need any dedicated launcher.

the reason why we have the

the reason why we have the platform specifications is so that if anything happens you can backup it's settings with the platform, don't follow the specifications you risk getting your data not included with the backup option unless you select a full disk backup on the backup tool in the platform

How is the relation of your context to the asked question?

I doing always a disk backup of my drive with portable soft.
But this is another story than the asked question.
