Portable mail client similiar to outlook?

I have recently encountered sites like qualcomm's brew forums, where i try to sign up with some web based email and i get a denied on my email, so i go to the aol email i have, same thing. So my question is: Is there a portable software like outlook that allows you create a email, that is NOT gmail, yahoo, or aol! Thx for any help in advance.......

You cannot use software to

You cannot use software to create an email address. Software can only retrieve email from an already created email account. To create a new email account you will need to go through a web based email provider (Gmail, Yahoo etc.) Also, your ISP (Internet Service Provider) will usually provide an email address for you that is included with your internet service. If you did not get an email address (or don't remember) from your ISP, then I would give them a call. If your ISP does not provide email addresses (I would be surprised) or you don't have your own internet, then you could check with a friend or relative you trust. Some ISP's will allow their customers to create more than one email address. If this is the case with one of your friends/relatives, then they may be willing to help you out.

It amazes me that on the internet you can be anything you want, and yet so many people still choose to be idiots.

Doesn't outlook, let you sign

Doesn't outlook, let you sign up for a email address? Plus on brew forums(the site not allowing web based email), i need something that is like outlook, because it does not accept: yahoo, gmail, or aol mail, for what reason i don't know, and other solutions i don't know where to find..........since it has to be a client based email, not web based if i read the forum post i saw on their forums............

April Fool?

Outlook lets you sign up for a mail account provided by MSN/Microsoft, probably a "Live" account (It used to be "Hotmail")... all they've done is integrate the sign up process into the software.

Email accounts are managed by Email servers, there's no getting around that.

When these forums/sites are talking about not allowing web-based mail accounts it is typically because people sign up for these free accounts with the intention of using them to spam or use them for spam bots. This is simply because it's EASY to get a free webmail account.

Websites that don't permit webmail email addresses typically expect you to use email accounts that are provider by your ISP (assuming your ISP isn't one of the disallowed email providers like AOL) or give you POP3/IMAP access. These types of email accounts are less prone to sign-ups by spammers.

I don't know of any off the top of my head but I'm sure if you searched for free email accounts with pop3 access you could probably find something. I"m sure somebody here can point you in the right direction.

It has nothing to do with how

It has nothing to do with how you can access your email (pop, web). As you say you can set up a gmail account and access it with outlook through pop. Also email addresses supplied by an ISP can typically be accessed by web mail as well. So again it has nothing to do with how you actually access your account. It has more to do with ensuring the account you use is associated with a legitimate, well intentioned person.

The main reason for forums blocking web based email addresses is to cut down on spam. It is too easy to create a gmail, hotmail etc. account such as i.am.a.spammer@gmail.com. Then using this email address you could create an account on the forum and then, manually or using a bot, flood the forum with spam.

With email addresses provided with ISP's, the email address is easily traced back to the real user through a billing address ect. So it is unlikely that these types of accounts would be used for spam or malice on a forum.

It amazes me that on the internet you can be anything you want, and yet so many people still choose to be idiots.

so far here in europe we use gmx.net accounts a lot, since they have very good service and not only webmail. They have also pop access and lot of features in their free version.

Did you contact the

Did you contact the administrator of the forums? I find it hard to believe that they have blocked all free email services, irregardless of spam, especially since vBulletin has a very powerful spam filtering system.

A Lot Do

A lot do block all free email providers as well as all email forwarding and anonymizing services. It's mainly old-school forums that wanted people to use their REAL email address (ISP, work or one they pay their webhost for). The thing is that many people have switched to freebie email as their main email account these days.

Personally, I've always had a 'real' email account... since 1996 or 7 anyway... that I pay for myself that has my own name as the domain.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I may just have a flawed way

I may just have a flawed way of thinking...It just seems unlikely, especially with what that forum is for, that they decide to block all free email services. I've had my own domain and email for 3 years now as well, but I rarely use it. My Gmail account has been my primary email account for over 4 years, and I refuse to touch any email provided by my ISP. They've been notorious for having catastrophic data losses, and I don't trust them with my email if they can't even keep backups.

Old-School

It's an older-school way of thinking. 10 years ago, everyone had ISP email and anyone with a free email account was laughed at. I've had my own email account since then. Free email accounts were the way most trolls did forum registrations. So lots of forums blocked all free email. Even people that used a free email (and were laughed at) had an ISP acct they could use to register with. The forum the poster is referencing *IS* one of those old-school forums. Brew is the really really old way of making apps for cell phones (not smart phones, cell phones).

Today, the newer internet generation just assumes things like email are free (and will complain on high if it should ever not be available for an hour, which I find hysterical... you aren't paying for it, you have no right to complain about it).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Very very true. Then we run

Very very true. Then we run into issues such as this, where people don't have an ISP email, or access to one? Ahh well, it's not really something we can fix anyways.

Best suggestion you can give is to register a domain and then get email via Google Apps, so all you have to pay for is the domain registration....

Indeed. I personally don't have an ISP email address, simply a Gmail address.
