I forgot to close Thunderbird before shuting down computer (WinXP). And now, when I wish to open Thunderbird, it opens totally empty and asks to set up accounts, although I had several e-mail accounts there.
But the add-on Calendar (Lightning) is ok - it still has all the notes and events I had saved.
What could I do, to get back the mail accounsta nd all the mails and address book?
I am having this issue as well. I can see my inbox and folders in the file explorer, but TBird does not recognize them.
im having the same problem as BigMoose
copy your existing mail folder over to wherever it was for the previous copy to the new copy (if you didn't specify otherwise, it's in \data\profile\Mail) If that works, then start copying the other files such as storage.sdb (lightning), abook.mab (address book), mimetypes.rdf (application helpers for attatchments), etc. that you need. If you need others, do those one by one.
Important!!! Before you do this, rename your existing copy of TBP to something you can recognize that is different so you can keep track of whats old and whats new. I usually add a "2" at the end or a "delete" so I can get rid of them in the future when I'm assured everything works right.
