Are they hidden? Right click on the Pnotes Icon in the task tray and look for show notes. Click on that, and they should come back

No they're not hidden. Actually something else is happening which is weird. When windows launches it appears it boots a Pnotes instances with none of my previosu notes. But if i close it from the tray and re-launch manually the program, my notes appear.
It's as if it launches pnotes.exe from somewhere else.
You wouldn't have happened to check the run at system startup, have you?
Uncheck the box, and create a shortcut to PNotesPortable.exe in the startup folder.
I'll have to check to see why it isn't working like it should . . . .

Just a comment, but the current version doesn´t say anything about Show Notes. It has Show Groups. Creating a new note is easy, but opening them isn´t very intuitive.
I had same issue with RC1 so went back to 5.5 (I think). HOWEVER when RC2 came out I implemented it and all was GOOD

When you set it to start with Windows, you're starting the normal copy of PNotes inside PNotes Portable to start with Windows. So, when it starts, it looks on your local PC's drive in your Application Data folders for notes instead of the portable location for data within PNotes Portable. Turn that option off, close PNotes, then run PNotesPortable.exe to start it properly and you'll see your notes.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
k, there's a addition to the switch that is supposed to make it work correctly.
Unless 6.x changed it, (which I guess it should have) data for the app was in the notes directory, not APPDATA
