ur portable apps is not how i expected it

uno wen u open documents, musics, pictures n videos it opens wiv windows explorer which is slightly rubbish. i thought dat wen u open documents, musics, pictures n videos it will open in the portableapps suite or a portableapps explorer (which there is no such thing.) so can u create a feature for portableapps like a portableapps explorer or in the suite. by da way if u create it on a suite put a folder icon on the suite and with a color background with the icon for da background.

There is a portable file

There is a portable file manager on PortableApps.com (two, in fact). Check out FreeCommander Portable. I can't say if it's currently in planning anymore, but at one point there was talk of adding the ability to load those directories within a portable file manager.

The Other one

I assume scriptdaemon is talking about the Xenon Portable File Manager which is the on I use a lot. Both programs are well worth a look at. In fact I have them both on my stick.

It's fairly difficult to understand your post.

You know, when I saw your profile, which indicates that you are from the United Kingdom, I assumed that you would speak the Queen's English.
However, it's possible that you are using one of the myriad forms of Middle English from the time of Chaucer.

May I reply with a quote from The Canterbury Tales?
"For possible is, syn thou hast hire presence,
And art a knyght, a worthy and an able,
That by som cas, syn Fortune is chaungeable,
Thow maist to thy desir some tyme atteyne.
But I, that am exilėd and bareyne
Of allė grace and in so greet despeir,
That ther nys erthė, water, fir, ne eir,
Ne crëature that of hem makėd is,
That may me hele or doon confort in this-
Wel oughte I sterve in wanhope and distresse,
Farwel, my lif, my lust and my gladnesse!"

In all seriousness, if you had a certain expectation of the functionality of the applications here, and then later found that the reality did not meet your preconceptions, it was not due to a willful misrepresentation of the facts by this site. However, if you would truly like to understand the complexities of your requests, the information is here in the posts.
The original intent of the portable apps here was not to replace the intrinsic functionality of Windows, but to make specific applications portable. In fact, most of the apps here are not created here, but are existing open source apps.
So...
To achieve your request, you would need:
1. A File association app. There are currently two apps in the development phase that can associate file types with specific apps, and the next revision of the Menu (a.k.a the Portable Apps Platform) should include this as a native function.
2. An alternate explorer app. As the other posters have indicated, there are several, just none that have been fully developed.
3. A popular demand for this. Whether or not you believe that the Windows explorer is rubbish, it is still the preferred explorer by most of the users. I myself have tried several of the alternate explorer apps, and in the end I've always come back to the Windows explorer. Still, there is always the possibility that someone somewhere will develop an Open Source explorer that is universally preferable to the Windows one, and when that happens, I'm sure that one of our devs will try to make it official here.
