Good morning,
I have just downloaded Google Chrome Portable 4.1.249.1036.
The software works only correctly if I install him/it in a different folder from "C:\programmi".
If I install him/it in the folder "C:\Programmi" (for example "C:\Programmi\ChromePortable") the software doesn't give signs of life.
Someone knows how to help me.
Thanks thousand.
I'm assuming that that's your "Program Files" folder. If so, it's due to a permissions problem. It can't write to its data there and so it just doesn't work. Portable applications should never be put in the Program Files directory.
I am a Christian and a developer and moderator here.

I have all portable applications in the folder "C:\Programmi" and all correctly work, but not Google Chrome. Besides I am administrator of the PC with all the rights.
Everything this is really strange...
Do you use Vista / Windows 7 ?
When you have the UAC (User account control) enabled there, it blocks programs writing to the Program Files directory even if you have administrative rights.

I thought PAInstaller doesn't elevate itself, so installs to Program Files shouldn't work at all?
Signature automatically removed for being too awesome.
I use Win Xp Pro SP2 with the User "Administrator", therefore I have full powers on the PC.
I don't succeed in understanding.
I wonder me if some 'other has the same my problem.
Many apps do NOT permit you to run the portable version properly from "Program Files" even if you are the admin. There is no workaround. If you want to use "Program Files", install the local version.
You should install portable apps to C:\PortableApps
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I believe that I will follow your suggestion. I will move all the portable applications in the folder "C:\PortableApps". It is also this way more orderly.
Thanks thousand.
