ONLINE INSTALLER
This is an online installer that will download additional files during install. For people who want Home/Professional versions, just place your legal copy in the App\BurnAware folder.
I need testing on the dll registering, it works, but whether admin privs on specific systems are required is still unsure.
UNSUPPORTED RELEASE
This is an unsupported release. I won't be updating this.
Release Notes:
Development Test 1 (4-17-2010)
- Fixed dll registering issue
Development Test 2 (4-18-2010)
- Updated to support online installer
Development Test 1 (4-17-2010)
- Initial Release
Known Bugs (As of 6-6-10):
None
with the process described by Devo in the Media Monkey Portable topic.
It's using Universal Extractor with some additional file update !
It does extract !
[edit: even better, just only get the file http://innounp.sourceforge.net/
I believe it's open source !
And use the following command line to unpack it:
Where DIR is the directory name to extract to.
Just add this into an installer custom code and you should have an online installer !

Done
Thanks Gingoloco.
The above will do away with the ugly 'Command Prompt' window.

Before you read this I have to tell you BurnAware gave a crash report on every option I clicked and told me it had to close. Never it actually did close it self though ! (Windows XP sp3)
So it's not working for me what so ever !!!
Anyway, the regshot I got:
The 'Prefetch' stuff probably is related to 'DrWatson' !?!?
Something else, maybe you'd want to set 'Check for updates when program starts' to false, as a default setting !
Probably it's the following setting
Update=1

Thanks for the report.
I'm not sure, but I think the cause might be gdiplus.dll missing in the system32 folder. I've set up environment variables in Dev 2, could you test if it works now?
Somehow the link in your installer.ini isn't working anymore !?!?
I found the following link (working for me):
http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3001-2646_4-10878661&ontId=2...
[edit: something very odd, when I repackaged it still the download didn't work,
Odd enough, other online installers do work for me !
Anyway, I repackaged it with 'burnaware_free.exe' installer included, but still the earlier mentioned problem.
I tried moving line:
to straight before launching and I tried locating 'gdiplus.dll' in the AppDir, but nothing done the job for me(other than installing BurnAware first & then running it portably)
It seems to want to have 'NMSDVDXU.dll' registered, you could give PAL a shot with:
Within Segments\Services.nsh, uncomment the following line and recompile

Cant you just put the gdiplus.dll in the exes folder?
"What about Love?" - "Overrated. Biochemically no different than eating large quantities of chocolate." - Al Pacino in The Devils Advocate
I'm (almost) sure it's not the gdiplus.dll, but it is NMSDVDXU.dll !
Which all ready is located in the AppDir !
I done a regshot of the real installation and NMSDVDXU.dll is the only one registered. After doing this real installation the portable version suddenly worked perfectly !

By the way: Are you saying BurnAware Portable works for you, or it does not ???

Dll registring is fixed if you add the following:
Taking in account that your DLL is located in the AppDir.
I had to copy BurnAware to the AppDir manually, as the online installer isn't downloading the BurnAware installer anymore!
[edit: to find out if the DLL got registered properly you could add a variable to the end of the first ExecWait, return value should be 0 = SUCCESS
If not zero pop-up a message telling the user there aren't sufficient rights to register the DLL and exit]
[edit2: probably it's safer to add $SYSDIR to regsvr32, see above]
Sorry (again) for all the edits !

Release Notes:
Development Test 1 (4-17-2010) ...DON'T THINK U MEAN THIS?
burnaware v3.0 is up/out!
Can you either post a new link to the file, or the custom code to unpack the installer. I'm trying to update the installer for MediaMonkey to be online, but I can't figure out what I need to put in the custom install section.

Maybe it would be better to set it up so innounp.exe is located in the Other\Source folder, so there is no reason to delete it after installing.
