This seemed off-topic, so I didn't put it in the FxP forum.
I haven't been able to find out planned release dates on the Mozilla site. There's probably a page somewhere, but I can't find it. I'm just curious when they plan to release a final version of Fx 2.0. I know Sep. 19 was the prevoius date, but obviously it didn't work out.
I wants my 2.0!
"when it's done"
They need to figure out what need to be fixed from the current RC1 and fix that for an RC2. Then release that... if it's solid... RC2 becomes the final. All "release dates" are simply targets for stuff like the Mozilla apps. They're not official dates until it's announced.

All I want and could expect are target dates.

You already found them, as you mentioned. We've already passed them, as you've realized. We're in the "when it's done" period.

I only knew the Sep. 19 date because you mentioned it here. I just want to know where I can find a target date for a version (if one exists, of course).

As I already said, we're in "when it's done" phase. Mozilla will announce another date later on when they decide on one... probably on mozillaZine.org or Asa's blog. Now please stop asking.

That's all I wanted to know.

It's always like that for every single release. Always has been. There is official way of announcing dates. Sometimes there's a press release. Sometimes Asa mentions it. Sometimes it comes up in the mozillaZine forums. Sometimes it comes up in an interview. And even when they *DO* announce a date, sometimes it will be missed. Sometimes by a day. Sometimes a week.
Say it with me:
"It will be released when it's ready"
"It will be released when it's ready"
"It will be released when it's ready"

Take your pick. Do you want a buggy version now or do you want a better more stable version after a short delay?
I took your post to mean you were excited though.

John, I knew that they set target dates that often get missed when I made the thread. All I wanted to know was where they would post a target date if they had one, and you answered me. I asked, and was answered. The thread should be locked.
