i downloaded the new version of chrome and went to update and said that the installer was invalid thanks

can anyone help this happen all the time any reson for it
first of all we need proper details
like where did you get the download from and was the update internally or from the installer from PortableApps.com, this information is key to better understand your current solution and help expedite a proper solution

installer from portable apps it worked on one flash drive but when i downloaded it to do the other flash drives it started to load then it came up and said installer was not valid
What version is it? What's the installer file name? How big is it? We need all this sort of information to be able to help you. And what is the message exactly? Is it an NSIS integrity checking error (if so, download it again), or a problem in the Google Chrome download that it does itself (if so, do try it once more and make sure that you're not running it at the same time)?

I downloaded the Chrome 5 you guys released yesterday. Everything went smoothly.
I later added two extensions, Change Colors, and FlashBlock.
