Way It Works

It's just the way it works. It's designed to re-wrap plaintext emails with end of lines that aren't in the right place. It is very imperfect.

This isn't something specific to the portable version (what we support), so if you require further assistance, I would suggest using the Mozilla forums on Mozilla.com or over at mozillazine.org.

just the way it works.....

Hmmmm - I'm not sure that you meant "just the way it works" in relation to the app freezing when word wrap is used - unless that is simply supposed to be a bear trap for newbies?

However I'll shlep over to the Mozilla forums and see what they say apart from - "its to portable version - go to the portable forums Smile

"falls over"

I think that's because you never said it crashed. You said it 'falls over', which is vague as heck and can mean anything from crashing, to doing nothing, to wrapping all over the place to converting it to gibberish. In my case, I meant that it usually doesn't rerwrap well. I've never seen it crash. And I can't reproduce your issue with Thunderbird Portable. So, it's something specific to you. I'd suggest disabling extensions and retrying.
