Application: Pingus
Category: Games
Description:
Pingus is a free Lemmings-like game covered under the GNU GPL. It features currently 22 playable levels.
Pingus has started at the end of 1998 with the simple goal to create a Free (as in freedom, not as in free beer) Lemmingstm clone. The Free means you get the sources and are allowed and encouraged to change and distribute them. You basically get everything that I used to create this game. In the years it has grown than quite a bit over the original goal and become something more than just a clone, we have original artwork, a built-in level editor, new actions, multiplayer and a few other features.

Thank you for (almost) always doing this. It's a big help (especially since I haven't been able to get Regshot to work for awhile; it keeps crashing on me).
Since the XP SP3 reg shot was already posted won't post mine lol. Works great considering I think it is a game ( ) not sure what the heck I am doing in it but the package looked solid.

There's a tutorial that should help you. Basically, you have to help the penguins get from one point to another without them dying (from falling, etc.)
And all this time I thought they were ducks lol just kidding

Fabulous game. And it's still same version on the website, so maybe this is worth releasing at some point?
I haven't done any Regshot testing, but it runs great under Win7 x64 ult.
This adds language switching support: http://dumpz.org/81614/
Also, you may want to change the description to something shorter.

So it does use the LANG environment variable, then? I've been trying to figure it out, not sure why I didn't find that. Thanks. I'll do an update tonight or tomorrow, and then this can go in the release thread.
Updated.
EDIT: NOW it's updated. The post reverted for whatever reason as I was editing.
When you update it (Pingus is now at 0.7.5), please update to the latest Portable App Template too.
By the way, some interesting things in the changelog:
--userdir
command line switch to set the directory where savegames are savedPreviously known as kAlug.
Will do.
PortableApps.com Format validation failed with 2 errors and 2 warnings.

Other than that, and what's previously noted, it looks clean so far. I thoroughly enjoy this game, and hope we can get it listed soon.
Validation is clean for me.

Clean for me, too.
Seems you tested Dev Test 1. I got the same results until I realized that I downloaded Dev Test 2 but forgot to install it. Dev Test 2 is clean for me.
You're right, it looks like I had DL'd DT2 but not installed it. my mistake.
Updated to Pingus 0.7.5

Now that the official stable release of the new PA.c platform and my finals are over, I'll update the template today or tomorrow.
It's possible it's going to be the first new release.

Updated.
This has been declared ready by the release team, and John has been sent it for posting whenever he's ready to start releasing new apps again.
on Win7 x64 (ent) with only normal user rights (non-admin), runs just fine.
Updated to latest version.
it was long time ago should be in release
It's on the list. It will be released at some point. Be patient.
scriptdaemon, I want to get this app moving again. Do you plan on updating it, or will you drop it? I know you aren't as active as before.
As far as I can tell, it's still the latest version. I update all my official apps as soon as they are out (if John doesn't beat me to it, at least) and I still check PA.c every day just to keep up, so consider me "mostly active." And speaking of, I hope to update a few of my dev tests that are outdated soon; it's just that I just moved back to San Bernardino over the weekend and have been packing/unpacking.
Y U No push this app??
Your comments aren't going to make the apps be released any sooner. We've said plenty of times that each app that is ready for release will be released when John gets to it. Please stop making these posts.
