Pre-Release?

Should the 5.0 release (and the 6.0 one?) be a Pre-Release?

Time for me to upgrade, I'll try the 6.0 line Smile

Edit: for your next release, Portableapps.com should be PortableApps.com in the EULA (no need to bump the EULA version though).

EULA page Portableapps.com is not affiliated with Google. Google and Chrome are trademarks or registered trademarks of Google Inc.

It's been like that for the last 3 or 4 releases >_> hehe. Thanks.

5.0 is today's Stable release. 6.0 is the most recent Dev release. I did label them...

Fine

It's fine for now. And I'll fix the EULA for the final release.

"Keyset does not exist"

On 4.0.something stable, I got a message box "Keyset does not exist" after entering the password (I've set PortablePasswords=true), unless I got it wrong last time in which case it doesn't (and the passwords are all loaded). I can't work out why this is happening, and I can't find any mention of it in the source. The first time I ran it after upgrading (in place) to 6.0.408.1, I didn't get the message but now the second time I have. I presume that this just means that the included ChromePasswords.dll is not synchronised with the source code of it.

Sounds like an error thrown

Sounds like an error thrown by ChromePasswords.dll. I haven't updated it in a while though, ugh. I tried to be careful to use algorithms that would be supported on at least XPSP3.

Did you disable the crypto service or something? It needs to be running I think for PortablePasswords to work. I can't think of any other reason why you'd be getting that error with the algorithms I'm using. Sad

[Edit: My bad, it's the "Protected Storage" service.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/246183

Make sure it's running and try again. Yeah that article says 2000 but the service still exists in 7.]

Hmm

For some reason it didn't even occur to me to think it might be an OS thing. I don't think I have control over the services running on the Uni machines, so I'll just have to continue using it as it is.

Update: now I'm at Uni, and I can report that the Protected Storage service is running (additionally, and as expected, startup type Automatic). So I'm not sure what it is.

Chrome Question

Do either of the versions support "Print Selection"?

According to the stuff I'm

According to the stuff I'm reading in the Chrome bug list it is not present in 5.0, but it was fixed for 6.0 and I am seeing the option in the print dialog. I haven't tried it myself though.
