Firefox Portable Acting Up

Just yesterday some of my extensions quit loading, as well as the theme I use. Would this be a corrupted Profile, and is there anything I can do about it? My passwords are all still there, as well as bookmarks.

First noted this on a Windows 7 netbook, and again today on XP computers at work. At one point I reinstalled the Whitehart theme and all the missing extensions were restored. At home tonight they are gone again as is the theme.

Oh,Firefox Portable 3.6.3

From the Error

From the Error Console:

Error: ExtensionManager:_finishOperations - failure, catching exception - lineno: 4484 - file: file:///D:/PortableApps/FirefoxPortable/App/firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js - TypeError: installLocation is null

Some sort of path problem? If so, why?

Extension list broken

This sounds like the extensions list is partially broken. Searching revealed this bug report which seems to be somewhat relevant, as suggested there, try deleting extensions.rdf from the profile (in the portable version that should be Data\profile\extensions.rdf).

Extension list broken

I will follow up on this. Just read a thread somewhere that someone overcame this by simply installing a new extension. Tried it, and the extensions are back. Seems plausible since I suppose the .rdf file would be rewritten.

Make me nervous that my USB drive may be exhibiting some errors.

Backup is your friend

You'd better dust off Toucan, it never hurts to have a backup. Wink
