I have a quick basic question. When I download install TBP, do I download it directly to my USB that I want to use or should I first download and install it to my harddrive, then install it onto my USB?

Although it doesn't matter, I would download to somewhere convenient, like the Desktkop, then install.
USB drives are slower than Hard Drives, so this way, your download will be faster. Downloading to the Desktop allows you to quickly run it and install it to your USB device, then delete it easily afterward.
This applies to all PortableApps hosted here.
Sounds simple enough. I'll give it a try.

Furthermore, if you download it to a different disk from the one you plan to install to then the install doesn't have to read and write at the same time, so the install will be faster too.
