I have an Asus Eee netbook. I have installed the Portable Apps console and a bunch of Portable Apps software, on a USB flashdrive, to use with the netbook. My problem is that the Portable Apps console sits too high for the little netbook screen, so I can't access the links to the software at the top - and I can't seem to access the top section of the apps console, so I can pull it down lower on the screen. I thought if I could alter the console to sit sideways across the screen, I could access everything easily -or perhaps there is a scroll bar that would go along the side of the console, so I can scroll the links along and get to see the top ones?
Do not believe that you ocan change the shape of the PA window...can't access top to move it? Try changing screen resolution to say 1280 x 784 and then move it to bottom, then change resolution back, The menu has a memory and will launch from last place it was.

Give Appetizer a shot. It was made by one of our own developers.

It is possible to change the shape of the menu with the mod r34 menu. It comes with a compact version. To install it, you must copy it over the our 1.5 Platform.
Note: The mod menu is unsupported and unofficial. It was made by fans of PortableApps.com
I guess the big question is what flavor of PA they are on? Personal;ly I am on the 2 beta. Does the program work with the 1.6.1?

1.1
It doesn't have the shininess of 1.5 either, or the hover effects
The R34 mod is very outdated. It used to be cool, and it has categories (and a very simple solution for implementing them), but it's old news and hasn't been actively worked on in quite some time.
Let's face it, the PortableApps.com Platform menu is just a branded app launcher. It doesn't do anything for making your apps portable, the launchers do that. If your computer doesn't fully support the PortableApps.com menu, by all means, use Appetizer. It's very nice; different from the menu, but good in its own way.
You can't access the apps? I do not understand.
I am using my EEE 8G PC with a 7 inch screen. Windows XP SP2 installed.
It will scroll vertically to allow viewing the entire screen.
The portable apps menu will scroll vertically to allow viewing all of the apps.
I have 29 apps on my menu and can view them all.
If your scroll is not working check the forums on Eee user.
The Portable Apps menu scroll works just fine on my Eee.

Just so you know, you can scroll up and down by:
- clicking the buttons with the mouse
- hitting the up or down arrows on the keyboard
- using the scroll wheel on the mouse (faster)
- using the page up and page down keys on the keyboard (19 positions at a time)
Most people find the scroll wheel the easiest to use. These are all supported in the PortableApps.com Platform 1.1 Beta 4 Release"
