Autorun issue

I know, Autorun problems are so frequently asked that it seems embarrasing to aks another, but my issue is different.

When I plug the thumbdrive in, the autorun "scan" pops up, then brings up the options for what to run. But the PAP is not one of them. The drive gets the default PA icon, but that's all. There is no option to run PAP in the right-click menu.

I'm using the 2.0 Beta 4 platform, but I don't see any difference between the Autorun.inf file it creates and older versions.

This is the content of the Autorun.inf file:

[Autorun]
Open=StartPortableApps.exe
Action=Start PortableApps.com
Icon=PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Graphics\usb.ico
Label=PortableApps.com

I tried the Microsoft fix tool, and it did find some issues on one of my computers, but others were OK, and the same issue happens on all. I even formatted my drive, and reinstalled PAP from scratch - same issue.

Anybody else having this issue?

P.S. This is on Windows XP computers. I didn't try it on newer OSs

Security Software

Do you have any security software that could be blocking it?
I have AntiVir and it is set to block all autoruns completely.

Re: Security Software

No, it's not an issue of security. The only thing I have is AVG free antivirus, which is not stopping anything like this. I've tried it on several computers, and it's always the same - it shows me the menu of options to choose what to do, but PAP is not one of the options.

Screenshots

Here are some screencaps of what's happening:
This is what opens up after I plug the key in:
Autorun Screen
(I couldn't get a screencap of the Autoplay scan, where it looks through the contents.) Note that PAP does not appear on the list (even when I scroll it)

This is the right-click menu I get for the drive:
Right-click
If I click "AutoPlay", I get the first screen...

Root?

You sure you installed to the root directory and that the StartPortableApps.exe file is in the root?

Also, keep in mind there was an XP hotfix to disable autorun on USB drives. Autorun fixers will not remove it.

Re: Root

Yes, it's installed to the root.
I know about the hotfix, but the "Autorun" screen does show up, and the option to Autorun is in the drive's right-click menu (that option doesn't show up if Autorun.inf is missing)

As Expected

The hotfix does NOT disable the Autorun screen. It just disables the ability for Autorun to start any EXE on the drive.
