Portable apps not working in Windows 2008

Hello,
I have my collection of portable apps working well in my laptop with Windows 7. Now I'm trying to find why this apps are not working on my Workstation. The Workstation is running Windows 2008 R2 and I'm copying the apps through the network to a local drive in the Workstation. It seems like security settings or something like that.
If some one know about what security setting or how to allow this apps to works well in 2008, please let me know.

Thank you!

Location?

By copying them from one location to another, some apps will fail. They are meant to be installed to a single location (Example: F:\PortableApps\AppNamePortable) and then the drive letter changing.

Also be sure not to run them from C:\Program Files. Portable apps will fail from there.

Windows 2008 & Windows 2008 R2

Correct me if I am wrong, but, isn't R2 the 64-bit version of Windows 2008? The apps may not work in 64-bit. I know some do.

No

Windows Server 2008 R2 is a separate product.

More specifically, the

More specifically, the original Windows Server 2008 was available for 32-bit Intel processors as well as IA-64 and x64; R2 was released a year later and is only for IA-64 and x64.

Richo,
I'm running Windows 2008 R2 who is 64bit. All the apps are working well in Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit.

I have tryed something named "Allow a program to communicate through Windows Firewall" but nothing yet.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Allow-a-program-to-communica...

I can't disable the Firewall because a domain policy. The same policies are in the laptop.

Policies

It sounds like this machine is more locked down than normal. If that is the case, then you simply may not be able to use the apps on your machine, since it is out of your control. Policies can be enacted on almost any version of Windows to cause this.
