When Pchat 1.1 is ran from "X:\Portable Programs" it saves it's data in "X:\Portable"
the error probably is in PChatPortable.ini. 
changing from 'CommandLineArguments=-d %PAL:DataDir%\settings' to 'CommandLineArguments=-d "%PAL:DataDir%\settings"' solves the problem.
